About the IWEP

The Integrated Women's Entrepreneurship Project (IWEP) is a multi-regional program that sets out to support and empower women entrepreneurs who are looking to start a business and expand their business by providing them with a wide range of resources, tools, advisory and trainings to succeed.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is in partnership with the Immigrant Education Society, Saskatoon Open Door Society, Seneca College, Microcredit Montreal, and Women in Business New Brunswick to deliver entrepreneurship services in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick.

Supporting Women Entrepreneurs, Building Canada's Future

Cafe Interior

Foundation
of the
IWEP

Our understanding of the current women entrepreneurship ecosystem is based on S.U.C.C.E.S.S.'s experience in delivering entrepreneurial training and its survey of 1520 recent immigrants in B.C..

We have found that the most significant barriers that hinder new entrepreneur success in business development are:

  • Lack of business English competency

  • Lack of familiarity with Canadian business culture

  • Lack of strong financial credit history

  • Lack of knowledge about Canadian business environment, system, and support services

As a result, the Government of Canada and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has dedicated their efforts to help alleviate and improve this situation.

Our Objectives

Knowledge

Increase knowledge of resources including financing options, Canadian business culture, legal considerations regarding business development, and other essential competencies for running a successful business.

Resources

Increase access to resources for small businesses, expand networks and connections, and enable advisory and mentoring support and guidance from professionals in the field.

Business Development

Strengthen entrepreneurship skills and capacity, including marketing and sales strategies and financial management skills, to start, sustain, and grow business ventures, and enhance understanding of business opportunities across Canada to develop better business acumen.

Perspective

Offer customized support to overcome the barriers and challenges and widen business perspectives by expanding knowledge, strengthening entrepreneurship skills, and increasing access to resources. Most importantly, to boost the self-confidence.
